We are enjoying our time with the girls. I am so glad that we have opened up our home for Homestay and look forward to being a continued part of this.

Loved the experience and my students are amazing young ladies. I will be sad to see them go. Thank you for the opportunity.

We have enjoyed having these girls in our home. We don’t have any complaints whatsoever. I hope they have learned a bit of Canadian culture staying with us!

To become a host, simply fill out our online application form. Once submitted, our team will review your information and schedule a home visit to ensure compatibility and safety for hosting.
Host families should have a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, provide a private bedroom for the student, and be willing to engage the student in daily life and activities. A background check and home inspection are part of our standard vetting process.
Our students come from many different countries, and even from other provinces of Canada. Some of the countries our students originate from include Japan, South Korea, Turkey, China, Mexico, Italy, Iran, Spain, and France.
While the majority of our students are young university students (18-22 years old), we do have groups of younger students as well (elementary school students from 12 years of age and up). Some students can also be older.
NHISS will provide the payments to the host families in a semi-monthly manner. Cheques will be delivered to your address on the 1st and 15th day of each month.
Yes, our homestay program includes meals: breakfast is usually self-served. The students will need a packed lunch to bring with them to school. Dinner is the main meal, to be served with the family and provides an opportunity to catch up and talk about the day. This is an excellent chance for the students to practice their English skills.
In case of any emergencies, please call 911. For minor issues, it is always best to try to communicate with your students directly and politely. If this is not possible, please contact NHISS and we will provide the necessary support for everyone involved until a satisfactory outcome is reached.

Our first month with our student has been great. She is often at school and studying hard however taking time to make friends and socialize. I think she is fitting in very nicely with everything.
